About, William.

Founder & Lead Clinician at Quality Time Institute

When your body changes, your whole world changes with it.

For many of my clients, life is divided into two chapters: "Before the Diagnosis" and "After." I founded Quality Time Institute because I saw a profound gap in our healthcare system—a space where the body is treated, but the person is often lost.

I don't just see you as a "case" or a "diagnosis." I see the human being navigating a life that has been unexpectedly interrupted. My mission is to help you move out of the "patient" role and back into the driver's seat of your own life.

My Philosophy: Person Over Patient

I believe that therapy for chronic illness and medical trauma must be relational, not just clinical. You have had enough people look at you through the lens of symptoms and lab results. In our sessions, we focus on identity, agency, and connection.

I work with individuals who are tired of being "gaslit" by the system, caregivers who are running on empty, and couples who are trying to find their way back to "Us" in a new reality. My approach is rooted in the belief that your worth is not measured by your productivity or your health status. You are whole, even when you feel broken.

The "Secret Sauce": A Process-Based Approach

While my heart is relational, my methodology is scientific. I utilize Process-Based Therapy (PBT) to help you build resilience that actually works in your daily life.

Instead of general talk therapy, we use Resilience Mapping to identify the specific psychological "nodes" that are blocking your peace. This approach is faster, measurable, and—most importantly—adaptable to the fluctuating nature of chronic illness. Whether you are in a season of stability or a high-symptom flare, our work moves with you.

My "Spoonie-Informed" Commitment

I understand that healing isn't a straight line and that your energy is a precious resource. This is why I built QTI to be an Accessibility-First practice:

1. I See Your Spoons: I respect your energy limits. If we need to keep the cameras off, pivot to a shorter check-in, or meet you while you're resting on the couch, we will.

2. A Soft Landing: You never have to "perform" wellness here. You can bring your fatigue, your grief, and your medical trauma into the room exactly as they are.

3. A Partner in Advocacy: Beyond the therapy room, I am committed to helping you build the tools to advocate for yourself in the doctor's office and the workplace.

Therapy That Adapts to You

You have navigated the system alone for long enough. It's time to have a partner who understands the journey. Whether you are looking to get your life back, rebuild your relationship, or return to work with confidence, I am honored to walk beside you.
